How to Sponsor a Child in Uganda

Over half of Uganda’s population is under the age of 18. Twenty percent of Ugandan children either do not have access to education or never finish primary school. Seventy-five percent of children suffer violence. And more than twenty-five percent of children under the age of 5 are malnourished.

This is why we developed our child sponsorship program.

We believe we serve God by serving others. If you’re interested in learning how YOU can help care for a vulnerable child in Uganda through our child sponsorship program, check out our guide below!

Step 1: Look through our sponsorship directory

The first step is to visit our website and look through all the children who are available for sponsorship. You can read about each child’s age, favorite Bible verse and more.

See sponsorship opportunities here.

Step 2: Choose your commitment

Once you choose which child you would like to sponsor, you will then see that you can commit to a certain amount of shares in the child’s sponsorship costs. Each share is $35 a month.

After selecting your share amount and completing the sign-up forms, you’re officially a child sponsor!

Step 3: Get to know your sponsor child

We encourage our sponsors to write letters to their sponsored child. You will also receive letters and updates from your sponsor child periodically throughout the year.

Sponsoring a child through Sozo Children makes your charitable act personal. As a small-scale operation, you can see how your money is being used to support a child in need. From providing medical care and a quality education to giving them a roof over their head and daily discipleship, our sponsorship program allows you to make a significant impact on a Ugandan child’s life.
