Sozo Choir Short-Term Mission Opportunity

Join the Revolution (Tour)!

Sozo Children is looking for four individuals to travel with the Sozo Children's Choir and serve as chaperones and stage techs during the 2024 Revolution Tour.

You will be an integral part of the choir and will be involved in ALL daily activities during the tour. Duties include traveling to schools and churches across the United States, stage setup and AV production, assisting with loading and unloading equipment, and working in the merch booth at events.

You will have a lasting impact on the lives of our children, our host families and our supporters during the tour and, most importantly, you will grow closer to Christ. EXPECTATIONS

+ Be an advocate for Sozo Children at all times with positive and encouraging attitudes (in host homes, churches, outings, restaurants, etc.)

+ Disciple and love Sozo Choir children in a Christ-like manner, at all times

+ Serve by chaperoning the children in host homes while on tour (will have 2-3 kids each night)

+ Hold children accountable in host homes by staying on schedule, encouraging appropriate food choices, going to bed on time, and following all guidelines

+ Assist teachers during school time by tutoring and maintaining learning environment

+ Carry out assigned duties while children are performing before and after event

+ Be present at all times by being Spiritual role models helping with devotion and prayer times

+ Operate merch table and assist with AV setup and operation

REQUIREMENTS

+ Must be able to commit to Sozo Children from December 27, 2023 - May 28, 2024

+ May raise funds to serve as a stipend during your internship 

+ Must be a follower of Jesus Christ

+ Must be a servant leader of at least 20 years of age

+ Must be able to lift boxes up to 50 pounds (luggage, merch, equipment, costumes)

+ AV individuals will need to have working knowledge of ProPresenter and assist with sound checks

Yes, you must be 20 years or older.

We prefer applicants who have completed their freshman year in college before the tour starts. This is also a perfect option for “gap year” students.

Yes please! We need to have consistency the entire tour with interns and leaders to help the children have stability while in the U.S.

No, however you are welcome to fundraise to pay yourself a stipend during the tour. 

Yes, we will help you with all that is needed. It is required to have the Yellow Fever vaccine and we recommend you get the Typhoid, Hep A & B, and updated Tetanus, as well. Also, you will need to take malaria meds while in Uganda.

If your school will accept an internship with our organization for credit, we would be more than happy to do everything on our end to make sure you receive credit.

Yes, each week you will have a designated day to be off. You will still be with your hosts and on tour, but will have time for yourself that entire day.
